Victor Bisbal

Victor Bisbal pursuing a major in Information Science with a concentration in Data Science. Victor has shown a keen interest in using data to better understand environmental issues, specifically within the context of the Cayuga Lake watershed. As a member of the Water Sub Team at CU Geodata, Victor researched potential contributors to Harmful Algae Blooms in Cayuga Lake and developed QGIS maps to show potential contributors to the phosphorus sink found down near Cayuga lake. In addition, he analyzed and interpreted data from the Kirchner study while also researching different instrumentation for the catchment site at the Cayuga Nature Center. Victor's work with CU Geodata demonstrates his passion for applying his data science skills to real-world environmental problems. He has also been a member of the Cornell University Sustainable Design team, where he helped develop and market an app to promote sustainable practices on Cornell's campus.
