Harmful Algal Blooms Insight
Make a Splash in Troubled Waters
Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) occur when there is a rapid proliferation of algae in a lake, leading to detrimental effects on the lake ecosystem as a result of the toxins produced by the algae. The HABs Insight project is a collaborative effort between HABs experts and Data Scientists, aiming to provide explanations and forecasts for HABs in various water locations. The project is currently focused on training and testing predictive models specifically for the Cayuga Lake area, as part of its long-term objectives.
