Nour Kastoun

Nour Kastoun is an Earth and Atmospheric Science major in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She is pursuing a concentration in Climate Science and a minor in Soil Science. Nour is passionate about community-centered science; her research interests include land-ocean-atmosphere interactions, coupled land-climate modeling, and biogeochemical cycles of nutrients in ecological and agricultural systems.

Nour is involved in multiple projects on CU GeoData. On Rock Team, she is developing a remote sensing methodology to analyze mine tailings management at the Empire State Mine and is coordinating a project to connect ground truth soil moisture measurements to INSAR data. On Air Team, Nour acts as a liaison to the Desert Dust project, which aims to develop a kitesonde system to collect dust measurements in the air. She is also involved in the weather station project.
