Jack Halberstadt

Jack Halberstadt is majoring in Atmospheric Science in Cornell’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. As a new member of CU Geodata’s air team, he has been working to install a new weather station on Cayuga Lake in order to collect useful data regarding lake-effect snow conditions. Jack will continue to do research about the weather conditions suitable for lake-effect snow off of the Finger Lakes in the future. In addition to doing winter weather research, he participated in a ten-day storm chase last spring to learn about severe weather forecasting with Penn State’s storm chase club before transferring to Cornell. This summer he hopes to get an internship position in operational meteorology before pursuing a potential research position the following summer.
